The Charles Causley Festival 2016

The Charles Causley Festival is Launceston's Festival of Literature and the Arts and this year runs from the 3rd to the 5th of June.  We are supported using public funding by the Arts Council of England and many other local businesses.

Charles Causley was born in Launceston, Cornwall in 1917 and is acknowledged as one of the very finest poets of the twentieth century. He lived in Launceston all his life, apart from six years in the Royal Navy.

Tamar Trails Festival

It’s been 20 years since the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) was designated. To celebrate this milestone, the AONB team have organised a 5-day Tamar Trail Festival from 26th to 30th August 2015 culminating  in a special day on Sunday 30th August, packed with family fun, local food, craft activities, a mini Bioblitz and much, much more.  Please go to

Dante Summer Festival

The Dante Summer Festival - Bringing Music to Life from the 11th to the 15th July 2016

Start your summer with a feast of concerts by the renowned Dante Quartet and their friends at spectacular venues in the Tamar Valley. This year we celebrate music from Austria and Hungary: performances of Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Brahms and Bartók alternate with open rehearsals, workshops, guided walks, shared meals and children’s events - something to inspire and entertain everyone.

Cornish Mining World Heritage Tinth Anniversary

In July 2006, the Cornwall and west Devon Mining Landscape was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this remarkable achievement in 2016, the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site Partnership has commissioned an exciting summer-long set of inspirational events and experiences for a Tinth Anniversary programme.

Every one of the ten areas of the UK’s largest World Heritage Site will host a wide variety of events that focus on Cornwall and west Devon’s world changing industrial innovations. Something for everyone to enjoy!

Launceston Late Night Christmas Shopping

Tavistock Festival (t/a Tavistock Music & Arts Festival

The company (not for profit) runs an annual Festival in the spring each year, as well as the Friends of the Festival organising a number of events to support our funds throughout the year.
