The Tamar Valley - a wide wooded river valley reaching from Bodmin Moor to Dartmoor, from the beaches of East Cornwall to the towns of West Devon, dotted with ancient mines, Tudor houses, stunning gardens, and rivers to explore and fish.
Tamar Valley Tourism brings together fishing, mining heritage, sailing, gardens, art, canoeing, and eating out with accommodation from hotels to holiday cottages, from B&B's to camping and caravanning, all along the River Tamar, from North Cornwall down past Plymouth to the Rame Peninsula. Join us! We love the Tamar Valley - we're sure you will love it too.
We are delighted to announce that the Tamar Valley is open and we are very pleased to be welcoming visitors once again.
Many of our hospitality businesses have already reopened or are preparing to do so in the forthcoming days and weeks and all have put measures in place to do so safely. Because some businesses will remain closed, some will operate a reduced service, and many will have a strict booking system in place, please make sure that you have done your research and know which attractions and facilities are open.
Please check back with the businesses in question on their social media feeds, websites, or contact them directly by telephone or email before you travel.
Please also remember that it remains essential that we take all necessary steps to stop the virus from resurging and raising the R-rate above 1. In reopening, we must continue to protect our local communities and avoid placing unnecessary pressure on NHS resources and local facilities.
We know that you love the Tamar Valley as much as we do and that you will make sure that when you next visit, you stay alert, stay socially distanced, are mindful of protecting the local environment, and obey the measures that are in place to keep us safe.
If you're not ready to visit yet, do stay connected to our beautiful area via our website and social media pages.
