Cullacott Holidays

Cullacott Farmhouse provides stunning self catering holiday accommodation in our Grade 1 listed medieval hall house, a Devon Longhouse, on a working farm near Launceston and within easy reach of Tavistock.

There are huge open fireplaces, comfy window seats, wooden shutters, slate floors downstairs and polished wooden floors upstairs, with a quirky maze of rooms and staircases providing a very different and unique holiday experience.

Dine in the medieval Great Hall, imagine you are Lord of the Manor, wonder at the fictive tapestry painted on one of the walls between the years 1485 and 1525, look out for a representation of St. George and the Dragon and even St. James of Compostella on other walls. Climb the turret staircase in the Tudor Wing to two large airy oak floored bedrooms - you can even hang your clothes in what once was a garde-robe. Enjoy the quirkiness of the 'trip' stairs in the Longhouse, the many other rooms and their historic features, yet all equipped for 21st century living. Soak up the tranquil atmosphere and enjoy the splendid views of the countryside. Experience the freedom to roam the farmland and surrounding area with walks along our farm lanes to the river and woodlands taking in the abundance of wildlife. Children, if supervised, can have great fun playing in the river - fishing, sailing little boats, even rafting, picnicking or if quiet enough just watching the wildlife. Adults could simply sit quietly watching for otters, kingfishers, damsel flies or dragon flies, even the odd heron which the local villagers guard their pond fish from!
Further afield is the majestic North Cornwall coast with its surfing beaches and coastal walks. Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor and the infamous Jamaica Inn are close by as are many beautiful National Trust Properties and gardens. Visit nearby Launceston, historic capital of Cornwall and explore the market towns of Tavistock and Holsworthy. There's so much to do and see.......or just relax, switch off and potter about taking in the beauty of nature all around.

The house has been divided into 2 self contained holiday units - the Longhouse which includes the medieval great hall, sleeping up to 7 and the Tudor Wing, built in 1579, sleeping up to 5. The house can also be let as a whole sleeping 10 - 12 then it becomes a very special fun place. The Tudor Wing has large rooms but is very suitable for just a couple when a discount is calculated.
